Exhibits

CWCM isn't just about children. It's a place where children and adults have a safe and fun environment for interaction. Children stretch and gain confidence through role-play and experiential learning. Adults see firsthand the potential of children as they interact together in the exhibit areas. Beyond that, children and adults have the opportunity to meet and interact with other children and adults. All exhibits are built and sized for children and adults.

Art Studio

Originally sponsored by Seramur Family Foundation, Inc.
The Art Studio is filled with tactile learning enriched tools such as scissors, colorful paints, sticky glue and enough toilet paper tubes to fill a castle.
Children will learn how to express themselves through the world of art.  A rocket filled with cotton balls and yarn, a watercolor masterpiece or a ladybug made out of egg cartons will inspire any child’s inner creative side. Children will learn how to express themselves creatively through music, movement and art.

*The Art Studio closes 30 minutes before the rest of the museum to allow for clean-up.

Bodies in Motion

Skip, hop, and climb in our Bodies in Motion exhibit area! Large motor skills will be strengthened while climbing the rock wall, cascading off the tower of slides, hopping through the maze of obstacles or building a tottering tower with building blocks. Winters are no longer a drag once you start getting your Body in Motion! Children will learn to move with strength, control, balance, coordination, and endurance.
You can also find wheelchairs from Ki Mobility with the Kids on Wheels exhibit to increase awareness and offer adaptable solutions.

Wild Wisconsin

Originally sponsored by Stevens Point Room Tax Committee as Life in a Pine Log.

Cast away in the great outdoors in our Wild Wisconsin exhibit!  The beautiful wonder of the outdoors can be experienced while exploring the birds nests, learning about animals habitats and pretending to be a bunny living in our life-sized fallen log!  Children will learn how to observe, use tools to gather information, compare observed objects, and seek answers to questions through active investigation.

Lights, Camera, Action!

Pop star, princess, weather forecaster, a roaring tiger or a rock n roll musician can all be explored through dramatic play in the Lights, Camera, Action exhibit! Allow your child's dreams and imagination to run wild while dressing up, using the stage and microphone and the life-sized TV anchor desk. Children will learn about self-awareness, self-esteem and social awareness by pretending with others. Children will also learn how to engage in imaginative play and inventive thinking through interactions with people, materials and the environment.

Community Cove

Cock-a-doodle-do! Welcome to the fabulous farm filled with a farmers market, a milking cow and the environmentally friendly farmhouse! It’s planting and harvesting time all year round here at the museum! Children will learn about hypothesis, making predictions and forming explanations based on trial and error, observations, and explorations.

2024 updates include adding a Farmers Market stand, Chicken Coop, and a Post Office area to deliver mail to other exhibits, and relocating the Pet Vet area.
